At home with Lori

Every couple weeks I go visit my dear friend Lori at her Kirkland townhouse.  She lives there with Marty (her husband) and their two edible children Amelia 2 and Owen 9 months.  She's currently on mat leave and is just enjoying being a stay at home mom.  Her downstairs playroom/ family room was recently finished and I find it very cozy.  There is no doubt 2 very young tots live here!

The floating floors are beautiful and give the space a clean modern feel. A huge rubber playmat keeps her babies comfy & warm as they play on the floor. Owen enjoys his blocks.

Expedit unit turned on it's side makes for brilliant storage and easy child access.  Love the hamper filled with stuffed animals.

These are so sweet. His & Hers storage boxes. 3 sprouts $26 from Pinky Blue.

Lori does such a good job designing her kid's bedrooms.  This is Amelia's bedroom. Creams and pinks make for a very girly palette.

The ikea corner unit is styled pretty with books, teddies and a darling teacup set.  Next door is Owen's room. Pale blue and cool greys work well in this modern room.

Love this paper chandelier.  From Bouclair.  A beautiful photo of Lori with her hands in a heart formation graces the back wall above Owen's crib.

Owen's foot prints make a special keepsake.  Cute decals decorate the walls.

Soothing palette in the master bedroom.  Necessary to unwind after an exhausting toddler chasing day!

Lori made this heart frame with crushed rose petals from the bouquet Marty asked her to marry him with.

Her main living room. Owen plays with his toys while Amelia naps. Duke, their lab, looks on.

A storage unit from Canadian Tire keeps things neutral and matches the living room set. $39

Lori keeps things uncluttered and simple in the dining area.  Lots of sunshine enters this side of the house.

Thanks Lori for letting me share your home, and Owen;)  And yes, it is usually this clean!
