Weekend Post- Kids + Food + Design

It's amazing how much we can be like our parents. I'm so happy to snap pictures of my little Ava playing with her kitchen. The kids are so used to me taking photos that they no longer ask to see them anymore.  My dad is the same way. I mean, he is a professional photographer, so maybe it's a little different, but the feeling of capturing the moment with a great shot is why I take so many pictures. The more you take, the more chance you have of getting that shot.  SnapSeed is an Ah-mazing free app that I use to perfect my Iphone photos.

This kitchen or anything you can throw together to include water or sand will be a hit with the kids. Brooklyn and Ava made "soup" yesterday with raw beans, carrots, and noodles. And yes, they did eat some. (Yuck) Kids love pouring water from one thing to another. This is a great hand-eye coordination exercise; but for them it's just fun.

Fresh Pinneapple, Mango, Avocado Salad.

Perfect side to eat with salmon. So fresh and delicious. The basil makes this dish!

1 pineapple
1 mango
1 avocado
1/2 lemon
1 handful of fresh basil
salt + pepper to taste
Cut and mix all ingredients and serve along side salmon. Sooooo delicious and healthy! You don't even need to make anything else alongside this dish.

I love, adore, worship Kelly Wearstler. She is a design God. Well, she has guts and designs like no other. Generally you can spot a Kelly Wearstler design. I've never seen this one before but loved it....

Hope you also had a nice weekend :)
