Wedding Trends + A $50 Minted Contest Giveaway!

I am super excited today to show you some fabulous wedding decor that can be a perfect jumping off point to your whole wedding design scheme. I will show you some amazing new designs from Minted.  If you've never heard of Minted you're in for a treat.  They are an online community of select artists from around the globe with uber amounts of talent. You can shop for art prints, stationary, awesome notebooks (I received one at BlogPodium) and decorations for all kinds of events from birthdays to (*new*) weddings.  They have a wide selection so think outside the box! Birthday decorations can be used for weddings or vice versa, so have a look!  And many items can be personalized!
Don't forget to enter contest below!

Weddings can be very expensive. Saving money by making some of the decorations and even floral arrangements will save you hundreds if not thousands of dollars and with a few good ideas and some organization it isn't all that difficult. I'm absolutely loving this design by Kelli Hall over at Minted. The jumping off point here are the exquisite lamp shades that are covered in her super high quality wrapping paper.  With all those veins it resembles pink marble.  Those lampshades are from Ikea and the wrapping was simply taped in place! An easy and gorgeous DIY. I will be ordering that paper.

Here's what's trending for 2014

Lace is timeless so if this was your choice I don't think you'd have any regrets.  Mix it with pinks, or corals, baby blues, or navies. The possibilities are endless.  The table cloths and lace are worth renting, unless you're having an intimate wedding.  Lace stationary by Minted.

Blue and white is here to stay and a little goes a long way.  So use it sparingly and have fun with the white.  Left photo, design by Aileen Tran and bottom right, by French Wedding Style.  Stationary by Minted.

Want an elegant yet sexy wedding? Black and white.  The balloons are also very cost effective (wedding photography by One and Only Paris Photography.)  One to Wed has some great eye candy (bottom right).  Minted stationary.

I think this one is my favourite. It's unfussy and forgiving. I would add a huge chalkboard on an easel for all the guests to write funny comments about the bride and groom! Left photo by Jessica Burke and bottom right by Kristyn Hogan. Both photos are from the best wedding blog Style Me Pretty.  Chalkboard inspired stationary from Minted.
