At home with Emily.

Emily is a beautiful 25 year old woman who has accomplished quite a bit in her short years.  She got her culinary degree in Stratford and followed her heart to Italy and California to work as a stagiere where she learned a lot about food & life.  She currently works at an exclusive members only restaurant in the old port of Montreal called Le 357c, where she cooks for lawyers, doctors, politicians and montreal's elite.  She also offers private catering (for intimate gatherings with your friends, family or business associates) in the Montreal and surrounding areas. If you're looking for a chef, she's your go to girl and can be reached via email at emma_lee_8@hotmail.com or 514-826-1932.

She also owns this lovely 1 bedroom open concept condo in Verdun.  So it's only fitting that her home (a 2 minute walk to the water, beautiful parks and metro) have a European, bistro feel.

This is her home office complete with skylight. The light coloured wood of the shelves and light coloured walls keep the room feeling far from cramped (it's only 8x6) and has a sharp angle with french doors leading into it. It's sized more appropriately for a small walk in closet but with it's skylight and double french doors it just works.

I'm jealous of this room. I could blog here all day long.

Emily found this hand sketched drawing and heart with key at a garage sale in Italy.  Apparently if you are single you leave the key out of the lock; taken? Stick the key in the hole.  She's single!

What office would be complete without a stack of books?  These shelves complete the space above her desk. Stack them anyway you want, they look beautiful as is!  She has an impressive collection of culinary books (I'm noticing this detail as I uploaded the photo).

The living space. It changes every time I see it! I like this configuration since it's the first thing you see when you walk in.  The painting above the couch was made by a friend- it's a silhouette of Emily.

Living, dining area

Painted chalkboard on wall. A must for a bistro feel.

Cute little shelf in the kitchen.

These Bernandin jars come in useful and they're decorative too!  In the summer they house her yummy home made tomato sauce.

She has an impressive collection of antique culinary utensils.

The bedroom. A collection of hand me down antiques and Ikea. Perfect pairing if you ask me.

Love the balance of this black and white drawing above the blue dresser. It's really refreshing.

In front of the bed.

Just outside the kitchen patio doors lies a little oasis to kick back with a few friends (and a few margaritas, or beers;). A definite plus when you live downtown.

Emily is planning her patio vegetable garden.  Since space is limited she will have to go vertical.  These wooden crates (from a market) will work beautifully to house tomatoes, and peppers.

Thank you Emily for sharing your beautiful home with us!
